What we liked
- + Covers both stages: a gallon jar for the first ferment and six swing top bottles for flavoring and carbonating.
- + Live SCOBY ships with a full cup of starter tea, plus organic sugar, a black tea blend and a tea bag.
- + pH strips and a thermometer strip are in the box, so you can track acidity and temperature from the first batch.
Trade-offs
- - Priced well above jar-and-SCOBY kits, which is wasted money if you already own bottles.
- - Bucha Brewers is a small business with a shorter track record than the best-known kombucha brands.
