Kombucha Starter Kit with SCOBY, Starter Tea, Organic Sugar, Black Tea, pH Strips and Thermometer
A kombucha starter kit with SCOBY, starter tea, organic sugar, black tea, pH strips and a thermometer for a guided first brew.
A kombucha kit bundles the vessel, a starter culture, tea, and the cloth and band you need for a first batch. The parts that decide your results are culture health and the vessel, not the extras. Kits differ in whether the culture ships live in starter liquid or dehydrated, how much starter tea comes with it, glass quality, and whether something as useful as a stick-on thermometer strip is included. We favored kits shipping a live culture in a decent volume of starter liquid, since a thin pouch means a slow and risky first batch. Clear guidance on sugar and tea ratios counted too. One gallon kits suit a household drinking a few bottles a week. Skip continuous brew kits at this stage: get one batch right in a plain jar before you add a spigot to the equation.
